Rock Creek Park Collection
“I knew I needed to find a way to connect with the East Coast landscape as deeply as I’d connected with the desert. My morning hikes in Rock Creek Park forged that connection…”
During the summer of 2023, I began exploring the process of interpreting landscapes through the same kinds of shapes I developed in my “Inner Architecture” series. I was working in the American Southwest at the time, and enamoured with the rich desert vistas. When I came home to Washington DC, I found myself lacking inspiration in the studio. I knew I needed to find a way to connect with the East Coast landscape as deeply as I had with the desert. My morning hikes in Rock Creek Park forged that connection, as I brought both photos and visual memories back to the studio. The resulting images form my Rock Creek Park collection.
