Desert West Series (2022-ongoing)

During the summer of 2023, during a residency at the Maynard Dixon Home & Studio run by The Thunderbird Foundation in Orderville, Utah, I began exploring the process of interpreting landscapes through the same kinds of shapes I developed in my “Inner Architecture” series. I was working in the American Southwest at the time, and enamoured with the rich desert vistas. Some pieces represent specific places; others are “visual memories”, an amalgum of places and impressions that form a sense of place that is familiar yet indeterminate.
